You search the same way.
The last click is different.
On any lodging search site, the last click lands you on a platform that charges a commission. Here it lands you at the lodging’s own door.
Search
Pick a destination and see every lodging on a real map, with terrain. Filter by type and by how long it takes to walk to the place you care about: a trail, the town center, the bus station.
Take a closer look
Tap one and its page opens: photos, rooms, amenities, walking time to each point and what we checked on its website.
Book on their website
When you decide, we take you to the lodging’s own website. You pick dates, pay through their system and get the confirmation from them. We don’t charge a commission.
What we check on each website
Before we send you, we try the door.
If we send you to a website and you can’t book, it’s bad for both of us. So we measure four things for every lodging, with a date, and show them on its page. The ones that meet all four carry the Verified website seal. Today that’s 611 of 696.

Its own website with bookings
The “Book” button goes to their own page, not to a platform or a form that goes nowhere.
- 2
Secure connection
The address starts with https and the browser shows no warnings when you go to pay.
- 3
Loads fast on a phone
We test it from a phone on simulated 4G. If it takes more than 4 seconds to show up, we don’t recommend it; if it takes 5 or more, we don’t show it at all.

Works on a phone
It reads well and you can book on a small screen, which is where most people book today.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell rooms. We have no prices of our own and no deals that expire in ten minutes.
We don’t charge. Not the traveler, not the lodging. No commission, no fee to be listed.
We don’t keep your data. No account, no email, no cookies following you around.
So how is it funded?
By the work of Andes Developers, the El Chaltén studio that builds Booking Directo. Andes charges for building websites for places that don’t have one, or have a weak one, and part of that goes back into the search site. In return, the search site lists every place with its own website for free, whoever built it.
We are in favor of every place setting whatever price it wants on its own website, without a platform dictating it. All we ask for is a website that makes booking easy.
It’s all spelled out in our policy.
